Women’s Basketball Adds Denise Neves to 2025-26 Roster

The guard joins the Musketeers from Lisbon, Portugal
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Billi Chambers has announced the addition of Denise Neves to the 2025-26 roster.
"Denise is an exciting addition to our program," said Chambers. "She is a hidden gem – a long, athletic guard who loves to defend and brings an explosiveness, offensively, that will change the dynamic of our team. We are thrilled to have her join us!"
Neves has played for the Portugal National Teams since she was eight, most recently playing for the U18 Team. The six-foot guard has led her team to two U18 District Championships. She was also named as one of the "Best Five" at the U18 Final Four in 2024-25.
Neves helped her U16 win a District Championship and advance to a U16 National Tournament Final Four.
The Lisbon, Portugal, native played club basketball for Team SIMECQ (2022-23) and Team GDEMAM (2015-16).
