The Xavier University Athletic Hall of Fame Process
Â
The Xavier University Athletic Hall of Fame was created to honor the former Xavier student-athletes and other individuals who have impacted Xavier Athletics that may be worthy of Hall of Fame consideration. One special category opens membership nominations to coaches, athletic directors and others who have been closely associated with the athletics program at Xavier. Another special category includes someone who, in the opinion of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, brought tremendous honor and distinction to the University through their participation in regional, national and/or international competition. The records of any candidate must be so outstanding that there is no question as to their qualifications for the Hall of Fame and their lasting impact on Xavier Athletics. Â
Â
The Hall of Fame was chartered in 1980 with the first awards given in 1981. The total number of inductees stands at 163 as of the summer of 2025.
Â
How To Nominate A Candidate
Â
Anyone may nominate a candidate for Hall of Fame consideration. Please email a nomination and any supporting material (stats, honors, testimonials from someone with direct knowledge of a candidate’s career, etc.) to Tom Eiser, Xavier University Associate Athletic Director and Chair of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee at eiser@xavier.edu. All eligible nominated candidates remain on the nomination list if not selected. Persons may verify with Eiser via email that a candidate is or is not on the list or to answer additional questions.
Â
The Committee Meets Annually
Â
The Xavier University Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee, comprised primarily of current  Xavier University Athletic Hall of Fame members, meets every summer no later than July. All nominations received by June 1 will be considered by the committee for that year’s process.
