Robert Judd was one of the most exciting rushers and most versatile offensive performers in XU history. And the stats back up that claim. He ranks second all-time on the Musketeer career rushing chart behind XU Hall of Famer Bob Finnell. He rushed 424 times for 1,636 career yards (3.8 yards per carry) and 15 touchdowns.
Judd was a part of one of XU's best teams, the 9-0-1 team of 1951 that blasted undefeated UC 26-0.
During his three years, XU finished 9-0-1 (1951), 4-6 (1952) including a 6-0 win over Boston College, and 2-7-1 (1953).
Judd enjoyed his best season as a junior, rushing 218 times for 710 yards (3.2 per carry) and six touchdowns. As a senior, he rushed 123 times for 470 yards (3.8 per carry) and four touchdowns. He led the team in rushing both years.
Judd set ten Xavier records as a rusher, a punter, a kickoff return man, and a punt return specialist, including single game records for most punts (13 versus Boston College in 1952), most yardage punting (445 yards versus Boston College in 1952), most punts caught (five versus Boston College in 1952), most yardage on punts returned (148 versus Boston College in 1952), and most kickoffs returned (five versus Boston College in 1952). Season records include most rushing attempts (218 in 1952), most punts (76), most yardage on punts at the time (2,487), most punts caught (25 in 1952), and most yardage on punts returned (148 in 1952). Most of the ten records still stand today.
