Tara Boothe, Xavier's all-time leading women's basketball scorer with 2,324 points, was the first ever Musketeer to eclipse the 2,000-points, 1,000-rebounds mark and is currently in third place on Xavier's all-time rebounding list with 1,004. Boothe, who had her jersey retired, still holds the XU single-season scoring record with 659 points during the 2004-05 season as well as the Xavier single-season scoring average record with 21.5 ppg. in 2005-06. Boothe graduated with the school career records for field goals made (now second at 883), field goals attempted (now second at 1,687), free throws made (490) and free throws attempted (661).
The Fort Thomas, Ky., native who was a local prep star at Highlands High School, led Xavier to an 80-42 overall record and a 43-21 mark in Atlantic 10 play during her four-year tenure as a Musketeer. She helped lead her team to national post season play four-consecutive years, including an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2002-03 and three-straight WNIT runs 2003-06. Boothe, a two-time Atlantic 10 scoring champion (2004-05 at 20.6 ppg. and  2005-06 at 21.5 ppg.), was named to the A-10 All-Conference First Team and All-Academic in each of her final three seasons and was named the A-10 Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2003 in addition to earning A-10 Third Team honors. She was honored by the Associated Press as an Honorable Mention All-American and was named to the John R. Wooden Award Mid-Season Watch list in 2005-06.
