Thrine Kane was an eight-time All-American at Xavier, helping guide the Xavier Rifle team to the highest finish in school history when they recorded a second-place finish at the 2000 NCAA Championship. She would eventually lead the squad to four consecutive Final Four appearances, culminating with a return to the Championship and another second-place finish during her senior year.
Kane was an eight-time All-American, the only Xavier shooter to ever accomplish this. She was a First Team All-American in Air Rifle four years, 2000-2003, and a Second Team All-American in Smallbore four years, 2000-2003. Kane solidified herself as the greatest Air Rifle shooter in Xavier Rifle history. Kane holds two NCAA Championship Individual Place Awards, including third place in air rifle in 2001 and sixth in air rifle in 2002. She was the 2001 NRA National Air Rifle Sectional Champion.
At 19, Kane was selected to the 2000 US Olympic Shooting Team for the Sydney Olympic Games. She was the youngest member selected to the US Olympic Rifle Team. She joined fellow alum and Xavier Hall of Fame member Jason Parker on the Olympic Team. She was a sophomore at the time.
