Men's Basketball Team Adds Two Walk-Ons

Waymire played two years as a basketball forward and two years as a football tight end at Roger Bacon. He helped the Spartans win the 2002 State Championship his junior year and earned a spot in the 2003 Regional Finals his senior year.
Rice, a three-year varsity letterwinner at Chanel, averaged 12 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals as a senior while earning All-League, Second Team All-District and a spot on the Sectional and District All-Tournament teams. He helped his team reach the state?s Final Four as a junior in 2003 and the Regional Semifinals as a senior in 2004.
Xavier opens the 2004-05 season with an exhibition game on Saturday against California University (Pennsylvania), an NCAA Division II Tournament team last season. The game is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6 at Cintas Center. All tickets are $12 for the exhibition games.
