BIG EAST Conference Announces The 2025-26 Men's Basketball Schedule

Musketeers open BIG EAST play vs. Creighton at Cintas Center.
CINCINNATI --- The BIG EAST Conference announced the 2025-26 men's basketball league schedule today. Xavier, which finished tied for fourth last season at 13-7, opens up against Creighton on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Cintas Center. XU visits Georgetown on Saturday, Dec. 20 before returning home to close out 2025 with Connecticut on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
In addition to the New Year's Eve holiday clash with UConn, Xavier has five BIG EAST Saturday home games this season, including Providence on Jan. 10, St. John's on Jan. 24, DePaul on Jan. 31, Marquette on Feb. 14 and Georgetown on Feb. 28.
Five of the 11 BIG EAST teams made the 2025 NCAA Tournament, including Xavier, Creighton, UConn, Marquette and St. John's. Xavier first-year head coach Richard Pitino has no returning scholarship letterwinners from last season's NCAA Tournament team. This is the first time a Xavier head coach has not had a single returning scholarship letterwinner in program history. All 12 of XU's MBB scholarship players are newcomers, including one freshman and 11 transfers.
Highlights of the previously announced non-conference schedule include a trip to Iowa on Friday, Nov. 14, the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout at Xavier on Friday, Dec. 5 and the Charleston Classic on Friday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 23, including a matchup with Georgia and a second game against either Clemson or West Virginia.
Xavier will hold a Blue-White Scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. as part of Xavier University's Reunion Weekend.
XU hosts an exhibition game against Murray State on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. as part of Xavier's Family Weekend. The game is presented by Heartland Bank.
