Doellman Named A-10 Player of the Week

The sophomore forward from Union, Ky. averaged 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in Xavier?s two games. Doellman posted 13 points, a career-high 13 rebounds and two blocked shots in the win over La Salle. He then followed up that performance with 18 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high four blocked shots versus Rhode Island. In the two wins, Doellman shot 10-of-24 (.417) from the field, 6-of-14 (.429) from behind the arc and 5-of-7 (.714) from the charity stripe.
This is the first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor for Doellman and is the first for a Xavier player since 2003 National Player of the Year David West earned the honor on March 8, 2003.
Xavier will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 10, for the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout. Game time is set for 9:00 p.m. at Cincinnati?s Shoemaker Center and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 as part of ESPN?s Rivalry Week.
