Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at Bonnie Hoover Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Kara Manis turned in a team-low round of 77 (+5) on Sunday afternoon to lead the Xavier University women's golf team to a 10th place finish at the Bonnie Hoover Invitational hosted by James Madison University. XU carded a two-round total of 656 (+80) in the weather shortened tournament, which was played on the par 72, 6,046 yard Lakeview Golf Course.
Penn State claimed the team title at 35-over par (611) while Nicole Hayashi of Georgetown finished atop the individual leaderboard with a 146 (+2).
Manis finished the tournament in a tie with two others for 12th place at 11-over par (155) after rounds of 78 (+6) and 77 (+5). Freshman Lindsay Cornell carded an 80 (+8) in round one and turned in a round of 81 (+9) on Sunday to finish with a 161 (+17).
Diana Torry fired rounds of 81 (+9) and 85 (+13) for a 36-hole total of 166 (+22). Junior Kathleen Hardy returned to the lineup with two rounds of 87 (+15) to finish at 30-over par (174). Sophomore Erin Gore completed the team lineup with an 89 (+17) on day one and a 92 (+20) on Sunday for a total of 181 (+37). Competing as an individual, Colette Ryan finished with a two-day total of 180 (+36) after two rounds of 90 (+18).
Xavier will return to the course on Friday, April 14, for day one of the three-day Colonial Athletic Association Championship, which is being played on Pinehurst No. 6.
