
XU Swim Teams Fall at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio - The Xavier men's and women's swim teams both fell at Wright State Saturday afternoon at the WSU Natatorium. The Radiers' men's team posted 156 points to XU's 102 after setting three pool records on the day. The Wright State women's team also broke a pool record in its 159-99 win over Xavier.
For the women, juniors Alissa Schriner (2:12.92) and Jill Winhusen (2:14.18) placed first and second in the 200 butterfly event. Freshman Kari Peglar took second place in the 100 butterfly (1:01.72) and the 200 freestyle (1:55.42).
On the men's side, senior Matt Krouse touched first in the 200 freestyle (1:46.97) and sophomore Mickey Hafertepe came in second (1:47.23) in the same event. Sophomore Mark Febus took first place in the 100 breaststroke (59.96) and freshman Nathan Green placed second in the 200 backstroke (2:00.44).
Up next for the Musketeers will be a home meet for the women's team only as XU will welcome Ohio University women's swim team to the O'Conner Sports Center Friday, Feb. 1. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
