MacLean Posts Another Top-10 Finish in Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore Sebastian MacLean finished in ninth place after firing rounds of 71-67-75 – 213 (E) and the Xavier University men’s golf team took 12th place at the Maryland Intercollegiate this weekend. The tournament was played at the par 71 6,766-yard River March Golf Club in College Park, Md. The second round concluded on Sunday morning after being suspended due to darkness on Saturday.
MacLean is off to a solid start this season, as the reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year finished fifth in the season-opening Golfweek Conference Challenge two weeks ago.
Herbert Day, who is in his first year at XU after transferring from UTEP, put together rounds of 75-74-71 – 220 (+7) and finished in a tie for 23rd.
Peter O’Neill (229, +16) and Alan Glynn (237, +22) rounded out the scoring for the Musketeers.
XU is back in action on Saturday, September 26 when the team travels up I-75 to compete at the Michigan Invitational.
