Final Results
URBANANA, Ill. - The Xavier men's golf team concluded the Illini Spring Invitational with a 13th place finish. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to poor weather conditions.
Junior Chris Burger was the top finisher for XU, with a 13th place finish after carding an even-par second round to end the tournament with a 4-over-par 148. Senior Peter O'Neill shot a 3-over-par 75 to bring his tournament total to 9-over-par 153 for 38th place.
Junior Sebastian MacLean came in 47th place after shooting rounds of 81-75--156 (+12). Rookie Yuki Kato ended in 65th place with a total of 84-77--161 (+17). Red-shirt senior Herbert Day was just behind Kato in 67th place after shooting a final round of 6-over-par 78 for a tournament total of 18-over-par 162.
Akron won the tournament with 7-over-par team total of 583. Purdue's William Sjaichudin won the tournament with a 1-under-par 143.
The Musketeers will compete in their final tournament before the A-10 Championships Apr. 23-24 at the Robert Keppler Invitational in Columbus, Ohio. Stay tuned to GoXavier.com for more information.
