HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Xavier men's golf team continues its battle with Charlotte atop the leader board at the 33rd annual Atlantic 10 Championships. After the conclusion of the second round, the Musketeers are back three shots on the 49ers. Red-shirt senior Herbert Day leads outright with a 2-under-par 142.
The Musketeers have a team total of 10-over-par 586, while the 49ers sit at 7-over-par 583. The next closest challenger is the Richmond Spiders, who sit at 19-over-par 585.
Day holds a one-shot lead over Charlotte's Andy Savejic and Richmond's Nick Austin. The red-shirt senior had three birdies to three bogeys to finish at even-par on the day. Junior Sebastian MacLean is two shots back from the lead with an even-par tournament total of 144. MacLean has fired consistent rounds both days.
Chris Burger and Peter O'Neill are in a tie for 13th place with tournament totals of 8-over-par 152s. Burger equaled his efforts from the first round with a 4-over-par 76, while O'Neill carded an 8-over-par 80. Wrapping it up for the Musketeers is Alan Glynn with a tournament total of 12-over-par for 24th place.
