"I am excited about the hiring of Greg and Brendan, two very talented, energetic and innovative young professionals," said Eiser. "We selected these two from hundreds of qualified applicants. In addition, I am excited to welcome Hayley Schletker to our team as a full-time volunteer intern after a successful summer internship."
Lautzenheiser comes to Xavier from Eastern Illinois University, where he has served as an assistant sports information director since 2011. He will work with Xavier's volleyball and women's basketball programs and other selected programs in addition to being the point person for GoXavier.com. While with the Panthers, Lautzenheiser handled communications efforts for the men's basketball, baseball, men's soccer and women's soccer programs.
Prior to his time at Western Carolina, Lautzenheiser spent time as a graduate assistant at Western Illinois and worked with a number of sports.
Lautzenheiser holds two degrees, including a bachelor's in sports management and a minor in journalism (Bowling Green State, '08) as well as a master's in recreation, parks and tourism administration (Western Illinois, '10).
Bergen, a Cincinnati native, will work with Xavier's men's soccer, baseball and other selected programs, in addition to leading the department's video and social media efforts. He joins the Musketeers from DePaul University, where he served as a graduate assistant in the athletics communication office for the past two years. During his time in Chicago, Bergen served as primary contact for the Blue Demons' volleyball and softball programs while also playing a principal role in the department's video and social media efforts.
A four-time winner in the CoSIDA Fred Stabley Writing Contest, Bergen successfully promoted a Capital One Academic All-American and NFCA All-American during his time at DePaul.
Prior to his stint at DePaul, Bergen also interned for Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and Wake Forest University, located in Winston-Salem, N.C., where he led the communications efforts for the nationally-ranked men's soccer team.
Bergen holds two degrees, a bachelor's in history (Dayton, '09) and a master's in new media studies (DePaul, '14). He is an active member of CoSIDA.
Schletker also holds two degrees, including a bachelor's in journalism (Kentucky, '08) and a master's in sport administration that she completed in August with a summer internship in the Xavier communications office. Schletker, who is a new active member of CoSIDA, will be working with women's soccer and selected other sports.
