Xavier Student-Athletes Complete Stellar Year in Classroom and Community

Student-athletes post cumulative GPA of 3.24, volunteer nearly 3,400 hours during 2015-16
During the Fall 2015 semester, Xavier's student athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.213, with women's tennis leading the way with a 3.58. Across the entire athletic department 78.8 percent of Xavier's student-athletes posted a grade point average above a 3.0, and 16 of 18 teams posted a combined 3.0 or above for the semester.
In Spring 2016, women's soccer led the department with a team GPA of 3.63 as the cumulative average of the department rose to 3.284. For the semester, over 40 percent of Xavier's student athletes posted a GPA of 3.5 or above, with 19 student-athletes posting a perfect 4.0.
The GPA of 3.247 for Xavier's 300 student-athletes for the Spring 2016 semester compared favorably to the GPA of the general student population of Xavier University, which stood at 3.17 overall for the spring semester.
Five Xavier teams earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards. Xavier's baseball, men's and women's tennis, women's golf and women's soccer teams each earned a perfect score of 1000 in the latest APR reports, The honor marked women's tennis' 11th straight year of posting a perfect score, marking each year the APR has been measured.
Xavier's student-athletes not only excelled in the classroom, but in the community as well, completing nearly 3,400 hours of volunteer work, an effort that stood out among their peers. In a competition during Fall 2015, Xavier ranked fourth overall and third in NCAA DI for community service, based on hours and participation rate. Xavier rated as No. 1 for total hours amongst men's basketball programs, as well as men's and women's swimming programs. Xavier also rated in the top five for total hours among men's soccer teams.

Student-athletes from Xavier also spent time working with local elementary school kids across the region on various projects, including Academy of World Languages, Kilgour Elementary, St. Joseph Elementary and Madisonville Elementary.
