Women are in third, men fourth with two days of competition remaining

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - After day two at the BIG EAST Championship at the Nassau County Aquatic Center on Long Island, Xavier swimming finished the day with three new school records and a number of personal best times. The Xavier women are in third place while the men remain in fourth with two days of competition remaining.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Emily Conners set a new school record in the 50 free during the preliminary heats to qualify in a tie for first. She led a trio of Musketeers in the top five in the finals, finishing third, with Caroline Gaertner and Paxtyn Drew following her in.

Xavier 500 free record-holder Katie Kerr led the Musketeers in the event with a time of 4:58.28.

Emily Saugstad set a top-five time in the Xavier record books in the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:59.74.

Hanna Martin set a personal best time of 2:07.86 in the 200 IM.

The women closed the evening with a school record-setting time in the 200 free relay, with Emily Conners, Abigail Garner, Caroline Gaertner and Paxtyn Drew taking second with a time of 1:31.94.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Alex Wolfred set a new school record in the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:29.05 to place. Brandon Abboud set a top-15 time in the XU record books in the 500 free.

Knox Hitt finished third in the 50 free with a time of 20.60. Tony Miller took the top spot in the B-Final with a time of 20.88.

Matthew Dyer's time of 1:50.71 in the 200 IM Championship final is a personal best.

The Musketeers closed the day with a third place finish in the 200 medley relay with Robert Snader, Miller, Enrique Hernandez and Hitt touching the wall in 1:21.98.
