Women's Swimming Hosts Bowling Green on Friday Afternoon

Events with Falcons set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's swimming hosts the Bowling Green Falcons on Friday, Nov. 2, in the final home meet against outside competition of the 2018-19 season. Events with the Falcons begin at 5:00 p.m. at the O'Connor Sports Center.

OPPONENTS - BGSU |
- BGSU is 4-0 in dual meets so far this season, competing against St. Francis, Findlay, Northern Michigan and Ball State.
- In the most recent meet against Ball State, the Falcons placed first in 14 of 16 events. Sophomore Sarah Hennings and freshman Daisy Platts each captured two first place finishes.
- The home meet will be between two women's squads.
- The two teams met last season, along with the men and women from Tiffin.
- The Musketeer women topped Tiffin and fell to the Falcons. The men collected a win over Tiffin. Combined, Xavier swimming won 18 of 28 non-diving events during the meet.
- Bowling Green finished fifth at the MAC Championships last season.

WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT |
- The Musketeers were last in action last Saturday at Cleveland State where the Xavier women took first in nine events on the way to a tie.
- Xavier opened the day with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay for Ali Fort, Lydia Schaeffer, Caroline Gaertner and Emily Conners.
- Emma Kauffeld led the Musketeers in distance free events, taking first in the 500 free with a season-best time of 5:11.68, the best time by a Musketeer so far in 2018-19. Kauffeld also placed second in the 1000 free to lead Xavier.
- Emily Conners led the way on free sprints, taking first in the 50 free and 100 free. Conners also took the top spot in the 200 free.
- In the 50 free, Tianna Vozar placed second and Laura Dicus took third.
- Caroline Gaertner led Xavier in the 100 back and the 100 fly, taking first in both. Her time of 56.95 in the 100 fly is the best time this season by a Musketeer.
- Taylor Hogan led the Musketeers in a pair of events as well, taking wins in the 200 fly and 200 back. Hogans time in the 200 fly is the best by a Musketeer this season. Hogan also set a personal season-best time in the 100 fly, taking second behind Gaertner.
- Maggie Kauffeld touched behind Hogan in the 200 fly to take second.
- Lydia Schaeffer led Xavier in breast stroke events, taking fourth in the 100 breast and second in the 200 breast. Schaeffer's time of 2:25.70 in the 200 breast is the best time by a Musketeer this season.
- Alison Herman's third place finish in the 100 IM led Xavier.
- Xavier closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay for Tianna Vozar, Caroline Gaertner, Abigail Garner and Laura Dicus.
- Xavier tied Cleveland State, 144-144.

- Xavier's full squad will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 3, when the Musketeers travel to Denison with events set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
