Meredith Klare Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Senior Meredith Klare was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her on-court performance last weekend. The libero helped the Musketeers post a 1-1 record over the weekend.

Klare led the Musketeers in digs (56), averaging 7.00 digs per set. She added 12 assists and one ace.

In the five set win over Villanova on Friday night, Klare recorded 40 digs - the third most in school history. The 40 digs also rank fourth in the NCAA this season.

The Union, Ky., native also moved into second place all-time at Xavier in career digs over the weekend. She now has 1,755 career digs.

Klare becomes the third Xavier player to earn the honors this season. Audrey Adams (Oct. 2) and Laura Grossman (Aug. 28) earned the recognition earlier this year.

Klare and the Musketeers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at DePaul. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. ET from McGrath-Phillips Arena.
