Women's Golf Announces Addition of Morgan Thomas to 2019 Recruiting Class

CINCINNATI – Xavier women's golf has officially added a new Musketeer for the 2019-20 season, bringing in Morgan Thomas during the November signing period.

The recruiting class was announced officially on Thursday by head coach Breanna Jenco, who is in her fourth season with the Musketeers.

Xavier resumes its season in late February at the Rio Verde Invitational.

THE SIGNING CLASS

• A 5-foot-3 righty swinger from England, Thomas has represented her country since the age of 11.
• She was the captain of the Millfield Golf Team and has been ranked as high as No. 1 in the UK and European Golf Rankings.
• Made cut for English Women's Amateur Championship, placing 27th overall.
• Reached the knockout stage of the English Women's Matchplay Championship, finishing 13th overall.
• Finished seventh in the English Schools Golf Association National Championships, qualifying her to play for England in the ESGA U-18 Tournament.
• Part of the Staffordshire women's team which won the Midland County Championship for the first time since 2001.

Coach Jenco on Thomas:
"We're excited to welcome Morgan to the program. She posted good scores as a junior golfer, so I'm anxious to see how those translate here at the collegiate level. In my conversations with her I could tell she has passionate curiosity for what we do as a program and the game of golf. I think her thirst to learn will help her improve throughout her career as a Musketeer."
