Mikayla Fitzpatrick Earns BIG EAST Golfer of the Week Honors

NEW YORK - Junior Mikayla Fitzpatrick earned the honors of BIG EAST Golfer of the Week after the first meet of the season. She got off to a quick start, where she finished the first round at even par, then led the Musketeers to a tie for fourth at the WIlliam & Mary Invitational.Â
Fitzpatrick, the Phoenix, Ariz. native, finished the tournament at a tie for fourth overall. She shot 72-76-72 (220, +4) over the two-day, 54-hole invitational. She ended the meet in a tie for second in total pars at 42 and she averaged 73.33 over each round (+1.33 versus par).
Her average score for the weekend ranked 34th nationally and her versus par score was 28th nationally, according to GolfStat.
This was Fitzpatrick's eighth career top-10 finish and third career top-five finish.
XU returns to the links on September 22nd and 23rd at the Nittany Lion Invitational at Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa.
