Rachel Butler earned All-BIG EAST honors on Friday afternoon

CARMEL, Ind. - Xavier men's and women's cross country both placed seventh at the BIG EAST Championships on Friday afternoon. The meet was held at the Northview Church XC Course in Carmel, Ind.

Butler won the men's 8K race, while Georgetown won the women's 6K race. Butler's Simon Bedard won the individual title on the men's side and Georgetown's Maggie Donahue won the women's individual crown.

Rachel Butler had the highest finish for the Musketeers, placing 18th in a time of 21:32.0. She becomes the ninth Xavier female runner to earn All-BIG EAST honors since joining the conference in 2015.
