NEW YORK - Rachel Butler was named the BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. The senior runner won the Butler Twilight on Friday, Sept. 3.
The Dublin, Ohio, native posted a 5K time of 17:19.80, the second fastest time in program history.
The cross country race was the first of her career as she joined the cross country team over the summer due to concussion issues. She is also a member of the Xavier women's soccer team.
Butler and the Musketeers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Greater Louisville Classic.
