Xavier Athletics Announces Partnership with Grippo’s

CINCINNATI – Xavier University has announced a multi-year deal with Grippo's Chips to become the official chip of Musketeer Athletics.
"We are thrilled to be teaming up with another great Cincinnati institution and brand as the Official Chip of Xavier Athletics," said Teri Baker, President of the Grippo Potato Chip Company. "We look forward to building this into a successful and long-term partnership"
The brand's official chip status will see Grippos Chips promoted and sold throughout Cintas Center as well as other athletic venues during the 2022-23 season.
Grippo's is also the official chip of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Zoo.
"Grippo's is a Cincinnati icon and we're excited and grateful for their support of Xavier Athletics," said Brian Hicks, Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations for Xavier Athletics. "The partnership between Grippo's and our department doesn't just enhance the game day experience for Musketeer fans, it also illustrates Xavier Athletics' community connection and support in the Cincinnati area."

Grippo's was founded in 1919 by Angelo Grippo in a one room office in downtown Cincinnati. Angelo started making ice cream cones and then in 1923, created the famous loop pretzel. In 1959, Grippo moved to the current location on Colerain Avenue. Grippo is the only family owned and operated snack food company in Cincinnati. Currently, 3rd,4th and 5th generations of the Grippo family are involved with the daily operations. Grippo distributes product in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. They have a mail order business that ships nationally.
