Kara Carter Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK - Freshman Kara Carter was named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. She earns the honors for the third time this season.

Xavier has now earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors four times this season.

Xavier won the Georgia State Invitational for the second straight season on March 29. The two-day tournament was played at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Ga.

The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 909 (+45) to win the title, one stroke ahead of runner-up Eastern Kentucky (910, +46). Xavier now has seven top-two finishes dating back to the spring of 2021 (four tournament titles; three runner-up finishes).

Carter paced the Musketeers with an eighth-place finish (224, +8), her fifth top-10 finish of the season.
