Carrigan O'reilly was named Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career
NEW YORK - Carrigan O'Reilly was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career on September 19. The senior setter received this honor after her performances in the matches against Miami (OH) and crosstown rival Cincinnati last week.
O'Reilly collected her fourth and fifth career triple-doubles against the Redhawks and Bearcats. Her fourth career triple-double consisted of 10 kills, 39 assists, and 17 digs. The setter topped those numbers in her fifth career triple-double when she posted 11 kills, 57 assists, and 16 digs against the Bearcats.
Her 57 assists were a single match high for the BIG EAST and landed her in the top five of the season.
During the matches, O'Reilly also tallied up three block assists and one service ace against Miami and two block assists and a service ace against Cincinnati.
The setter's career totals now sit at 312 kills, 2,499 assists, 688 digs, 100 block assists, 11 block solos, and 36 service aces. She is ranked ninth in program history for assists and is steadily climbing her way up the rankings.
