Kiera Armitage earns the award for the first time in her career
NEW YORK - Kiera Armitage was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon. The midfielder contributed significantly to the Musketeers' efforts against No. 23 UConn.
Armitage helped the Musketeers to record four wins in the inaugural season. The Awendaw, South Carolina native holds the season record in draw controls (44) and in shooting percentage (.600).
Armitage recorded one goal and four draw controls for the Musketeers against the Huskies, going 1-2 on free position goals.
The midfielder collected nine goals, one assist, eight caused turnovers, 44 draw controls and 15 ground balls across 14 games in her freshman season.
