Lacrosse Announces 2026 Schedule

The Musketeers will play 10 games at Corcoran Field in the spring.
CINCINNATI - Head coach Brittney Morris announced the 2026 spring lacrosse schedule ahead of her first season at the helm of the Musketeers' lacrosse program. The fourth season of the program will feature 10 games at Corcoran Field.
Xavier is set to face two teams who reached the NCAA Tournament last season including five-time defending BIG EAST champion Denver and the MAC champions, Akron. The Musketeers will also face five new opponents this season in Mercyhurst, Kent State, William & Mary, Old Dominion and Cal.
XU will face opponents from six different conferences outside of the BIG EAST including the American, ACC, Big 12, CAA, MAC and NEC.
Morris' inaugural roster includes 21 returners from last year's squad with the addition of five transfers and seven newcomers.
Xavier is seeking its first ever appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament this year. The 2026 championship will be held in Denver on Apr. 30-May 2 at the reigning champion Pioneers' home field.
The Musketeers will play their season opener at home for the first time in the program's young history. Xavier hosts crosstown rival Cincinnati at Corcoran Field for the third all-time meeting between the two programs on Feb. 6. The Bearcats finished 8-9 overall with a 1-4 record in the inaugural season of Big 12 lacrosse. UC holds a 2-0 all-time record against the Musketeers.
Xavier will then welcome Mercyhurst to Corcoran Field on Feb. 8 for the first meeting between the two programs. The Lakers went 6-9 with a 6-3 NEC record in the school's first season as a Division I program in 2025.
XU hits the road for two games against MAC opponents with their first stop in Ypsilanti, Mich. The Musketeers will face Eastern Michigan on Feb. 14 for the first road game of the season. The Eagles were 8-9 with a 4-2 record in the MAC, falling in the conference semifinals to eventual champion Akron. Xavier is 2-0 all-time against EMU, defeating the Eagles by a one-goal margin in both 2023 and 2024.
Xavier returns to Ohio to face Kent State for the first meeting between the programs on Feb. 24. The Golden Flashes finished 6-11 with a 1-5 MAC record a season ago. The Musketeers are 3-3 all-time against the MAC.
The Musketeers continue their stretch against MAC teams, hosting Akron at Corcoran Field on March 1. The Zips finished 11-8 with a 4-2 league record and won their first ever MAC Championship last season. Akron is 2-0 all-time against XU including a win in Akron, Ohio last season.
Xavier continues the home stand against Detroit Mercy on March 4 for the third all-time meeting between the teams. The Musketeers lost to the Titans in their inaugural 2023 campaign but defeated them in 2024 in Cincinnati. Detroit Mercy finished with a 6-9 overall and 3-3 MAC record last season, falling in the conference semifinals.
The Musketeers hit the road for two games in Virginia over spring break. William & Mary will host XU on March 8 for the team's first meeting and Xavier's first CAA opponent. The Tribe went 6-10 with a 2-6 record in the CAA last season.
Xavier will visit Old Dominion on March 10 in Norfolk, Va. ODU went 8-9 with a 1-5 record in the American last season. The Musketeers and Monarchs will face off for the first time in program history.
XU returns home for one game against Vanderbilt on March 14. The Commodores finished 9-9 and 3-3 in the American last season, falling to eventual champion JMU in the AAC semifinals. The Musketeers are 0-2 all-time against Vanderbilt.
Xavier begins conference play at Villanova on March 21 in Pennsylvania. The Wildcats went 11-7 and 4-2 in the BIG EAST last season, earning the No. 2 seed falling in the conference championship to Denver. Villanova has won all three contest against XU since the Musketeers joined the BIG EAST in 2023.
XU begins a three-game home stand when Cal visits Corcoran Field on March 24. The Golden Bears went 6-10 with an 0-9 record in the ACC last season. The Musketeers are facing off with Cal for the first time in program history and look to pick up their first win against an ACC opponent.
The Musketeers return to BIG EAST play on March 28 to host Marquette. The Golden Eagles went 10-6 with a 3-3 BIG EAST record to finish fifth in the league. MU is 3-0 all-time against the Musketeers.
Xavier closes out the home stand against Butler on April 1. The Bulldogs went 0-14 and 0-6 in the BIG EAST last season. Butler holds a 2-1 advantage over XU, but the Musketeers defeated the Bulldogs in the season finale last season to pick up their first BIG EAST win in program history.
XU will visit Washington, D.C., on April to face Georgetown. The Hoyas finished the 2025 season with a 9-8 overall record and 4-2 mark in the BIG EAST to earn the No. 4 seed in the conference championship but fell to eventual champion Denver in the semifinals. GU is 3-0 all-time against the Musketeers.
Xavier will host UConn for their final BIG EAST home game on April 11. The Huskies earned the No. 3 seed after an 11-6 and 4-2 BIG EAST record to pick up the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament but lost to Villanova in the semifinals. The Huskies have won all three match ups against the Musketeers since 2023.
The Musketeers will close out the BIG EAST slate at Denver for their final road game of the regular season on April 18. The Pioneers finished 14-6 with a 5-1 BIG EAST record and won their fifth straight BIG EAST Championship in 2025. Denver is 2-0 all-time against XU.
Xavier will host San Diego State to end the regular season on April 26 at Corcoran Field. The Aztecs finished 5-11 with an 0-5 league record in the inaugural season of the Big 12. SDSU and XU have faced off once in 2024 with the Aztecs winning in Tempe, Ariz.
