CINCINNATI - Xavier cross country opens the 2023 season at the Vic Godfrey Open on Friday, Sept. 1. The meet is being hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis.

The Women's 4K Race at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the Men's 6K Race at 6:45 p.m. ET.

NOTABLES

• Xavier returns four of its top-seven women's finishers from the 2022 BIG EAST Championships: Jamie Klavon (32nd), Ashleigh Prugh (41st), Grace Zdankiewicz (46th) and Annie Sinning (52nd). The team placed seventh at the championship meet.

• The Musketeers also return five runners on the men's side from the 2022 BIG EAST Championships in Trevor Nolan (31st), Aiden Amshoff (52nd), Eric Board (53rd), Jackson Triplett (54th) and Will Garey (57th). The men also placed seventh at the meet.

• Xavier will compete at the Greater Louisville Classic (Sept. 30) for the third time in as many seasons. The Musketeers also return to the All-Ohio Challenge (Sept. 15) for the first time since 2019.

• Xavier also travels to the Vic Godfrey Open (Pre-BIG EAST Championships) on Sept. 2. The same running course will be used for the conference championships on Oct. 28.
