Xavier Swimming Announces 2023-24 Schedule

Musketeers set to take part in 11 meets ahead of 2024 BIG EAST Championships
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming announced the schedule for the 2023-24 season, as the Musketeers prepare for the 2024 BIG EAST Championship, set to run February 28 through March 3 at the Indiana Natatorium in Indianapolis.
The Xavier women are coming off a fourth-place finish at last season's BIG EAST Championships, returning four Musketeers who earned All-BIG EAST honors, Kali Fischer, Erin Ritz, Olivia Oyster and Clara Keiser.
On the men's side, the Musketeers return eight All-Conference performers who helped Xavier to seven event wins and a narrow second-place finish. Ethan Saunders leads the returnees, earning All-BIG EAST in five events, and Matthew Adanin, Michael Benington, Gage Hannewyk, Kyle Hudson, Aiden Leamer, Jack Parker and Nathan Wall were also named to the all-conference team.

Butler Double Dual

- Xavier will compete against St. Louis, Bellarmine, IUPUI as well the Butler women.
- Last year Xavier swept the Butler Double Dual, picking up a combined 15 event wins to go 9-0 in head-to-head match-ups for the day.
- The Musketeer women won last year's meet, going 5-0 for the day, taking wins over Bellarmine (152-49), Butler (151-50), Eastern Illinois (147.50-52.50), Saint Louis (124-77) and IUPUI (125-76). The Xavier women won seven events at last year's meet.
- Xavier's men went 4-0, picking up wins over Bellarmine (150-51), Saint Louis (132-69), Eastern Illinois (154-46) and IUPUI (121-79). The Musketeer men finished with eight event wins.
Louisville
Ralph Wright Natatorium - Louisville, Ky.

- Both UofL squads finished third at last season's ACC Championships. The women's squad placed fourth at the 2023 NCAA Championships, while the men finished 13th.
- Xavier faced the Cardinals to open the dual schedule in 2022-23, with the women falling 181-78 and the men falling 169-89.
Alumni Meet
Heidt Family Champions Center - Cincinnati, Ohio

- The Musketeers will host a meet for the current squad to compete against program alumni at the Heidt Family Champions Center on Xavier's campus.
Akron Invite
Ocasek Natatorium - Akron, Ohio
October 13-14 - 5PM/9 AM/4 PM
- This year's two-day event will feature Akron, Youngstown State, Bowling Green and Denison.
- Last season, the two teams won four events championships as Xavier's women finished in fifth, collecting 268.5 points, while the Xavier's men finished in third, collecting 926.5 points.
Denison
Trumbull Aquatic Center - Granville, Ohio

- Denison's women claimed the NCAA DIII Championship last season, the program's second national title.
- The Big Red men finished second at last seasons NCAC Championship, going on to place eighth at the NCAA DIII Championships.
- At last season's dual, Xavier collected 16 first-place finishes at Denison, with the men taking the win, 178-84, while the women fell narrowly, 136-125.
Magnus Cup
Busbey Natatorium - Cleveland, Ohio
November 16-18 - All Day
- Last season's meet featured Akron, Duquesne, Toledo, Niagara, St. Bonaventure, Indiana University of PA, Canisius College, Case Western, Cleveland State, Gannon and Fairmont State.
- Xavier's men won the 10-team event at CSU last season, collecting 1,076 points.
- The Musketeer women placed third out of 12 teams with 820 points.
Oakland University
Oakland University Aquatic Center -Â Rochester, Mich.
January 12-13 - 5 PM/10 AMÂ
- Last season, Oakland wrapped up the Horizon League Championships with both teams taking the team titles, with the women collecting 983 points and the men taking collecting 852 points.
- Xavier last faced Oakland in 2021-22, collecting eight first place finishes. The women fell by a score of 157-105 while the men fell 155-107.
Cincinnati
Keating Aquatic Center - Cincinnati, Ohio

- The Cincinnati men finished second at last year's AAC Championship, while the women finished fifth.
- At last season's dual, the Musketeers collected 10 event wins against the Bearcats, with the women falling 181-106 and the men falling,197-97.
Bellarmine
Heidt Family Champions Center - Cincinnati, Ohio

- Bellarmine's men finished fifth at last season's CCSA Championship, while the women finished 11th at the conference meet.
- At last season's dual, Xavier's men and women combined to win 21 events on the way to a sweep of the Knights.
Butler Invite
Fishers High School - Fishers, Ind.

- This season's meet will feature Valpo, Youngstown State, UIndy and Eastern Illinois in addition to the host Bulldogs.
- Last season, Xavier picked up four event wins, with the women winning three events and the men collecting an event win. Both team finished in second place.
Miami (Ohio)
Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center - Oxford, Ohio

- Miami took the MAC Championship in men's swimming last season, while the women finished third.
- At last season's meet, Xavier collected five first place finishes but the RedHawks picked up a pair of team victories.
BIG EAST Championships
IUPUI Natatorium - Indianapolis, Ind.
February 28-March 3 - All Day
- The Xavier men placed second at last season's conference meet, winning seven events with 10 Musketeers earning All-Conference, led by BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer Andrew Martin.
- Ethan Saunders leads the returning Musketeers with all-conference honors in five events (100 Breast, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay).
- Â On the women's side, seven Musketeers earned All-BIG EAST after helping Xavier to a fourth-place finish.
- Olivia Oyster (400 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay) and Erin Ritz (200 Fly, 400 Medley Relay) earned All-BIG EAST in multiple events. Kali Fischer and Clare Keiser also earned all-conference in the 400 Free Relay.
- This season's conference meet will be held in Indianapolis, at the IUPUIÂ Natatorium. The Musketeers last competed there as a team in January 2020, facing IUPUI in dual action.
