Men's Golf Places Third at Peoples Golf Championship

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - Xavier men's golf placed third at the Peoples Golf Championship on Saturday afternoon. The two-day tournament was hosted by Western Carolina at Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga.

The final round of golf on Saturday was canceled due to inclement weather.

Xavier posted a 36-hole score of 568 (E) to place third in a field of 22 teams. Davidson won the tournament with a score of 547 (-21), while Drexel placed second (560, -8).

Freshman Ray Filter placed tied for fourth with a score of 137 (-5) to pace the Musketeers, the highest finish of his career. The field consisted of 128 golfers.

Shane Ochs (Wright State) took home medalist honors with a score of 133 (-9).
