Musketeers Finish Fifth at BIG EAST Championships

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Xavier men's golf placed fifth at the BIG EAST Championships on Monday evening. The three-day tournament was held at Riverton Pointe Country Club and Golf Course.

The fifth-place finish is Xavier's highest team finish at the BIG EAST Championships since 2017 (also finished fifth). The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 887 (+23).

Individually, A.J. Wilhelm placed tied for 11th with a 54-hole score of 221 (+5) - the highest finish by a freshman at the tournament.

Peicheng Chen (St. John's) took home medalist honors with a score of 214 (-2). Shaun Campbell (Creighton) placed second with a score of 215 (-1).

Seton Hall won the tournament with a score of 872 (+8), finishing five strokes ahead of Butler (877, +13). The Pirates have now won two of the last four BIG EAST Championships.
