Tyler Goecke Named Assistant Men's Golf Coach

The Xenia, Ohio, native played collegiately at Wright State and Illinois
CINCINNATI - Xavier head men's golf coach Brian Arlinghaus named Tyler Goecke as assistant coach on Friday morning. Goecke brings an impressive track record of success and experience to the Musketeers, having demonstrated excellence both as a collegiate athlete and an amateur golfer.
"We are excited to welcome Tyler Goecke to our coaching staff," said Arlinghaus. "Tyler's extensive experience and proven track record of success make him a valuable addition to our team. His dedication, skill, and passion for the game will undoubtedly inspire and drive our players to achieve their best and at the same time help push Tyler as he navigates his way through the professional golf ranks."
During his collegiate career at Wright State, Goecke established himself as a formidable golfer, holding the records for the Wright State Career Scoring Average and the Single Season Scoring Average. He was an integral member of the 2022 Horizon League Championship Team and clinched the title of 2023 Horizon League Individual Champion. His consistent performance earned him the title of Horizon League Player of the Year twice and a place on the Horizon League First Team three times. Goecke's tenure at Wright State was marked by seven individual tournament victories, highlighting his competitive edge and skill.
After his time at Wright State, Goecke continued to excel at the University of Illinois. In 2024, he earned Honorable Mention All-American honors and was the Individual Runner-Up at the NCAA National Championship. His performance at the Stanford Regional was particularly noteworthy, where he secured a top-5 finish.
Goecke's accomplishments extend beyond the collegiate level into his amateur career. In 2024, he won the Dayton Metropolitan Championship and was the Ohio Amateur Runner-Up, following a third-place finish in 2023 and 2022. His impressive record includes being a semifinalist at the 2023 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, winning the 2021 NEOH Amateur Championship, and earning Second-Team honors at the 2018 OHSAA Boys State Championship.
