The sophomore golfer took home medalist honors at the Wexford Intercollegiate
NEW YORK - Ray Filter was named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Thursday afternoon. The sophomore golfer shared the honors with Peicheng Chen from St. John's.
The Crown Point, Ind., native is the second Musketeer to capture the honors this season. Kellen Dean earned the recognition on Oct. 10, 2024.
Filter took medalist honors, the first of his career, at the Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C. on Feb. 18. He posted a 54-hole score of 211 (-5), finishing two strokes ahead of Denver's Willis Panzarello.Â
Filter led Xavier to its second straight stroke play tournament title. The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 863 (-1), finishing eight strokes ahead of No. 14 USC-Aiken.
