Swimming Wraps Up 2025 BIG EAST Championships with Four More Event Titles

GENEVA, Ohio – Xavier men's and women's swimming wrapped up the final day of the 2025 BIG EAST Championships with four more BIG EAST titles and seven new school records. Both squads finished in third place in the team standings after four days of competition.
On the women's side, the Musketeers won a program-best eight BIG EAST Championships and set new school records in 11 events, including all five relays. Seven Musketeer women posted All-Conference performances and four set NCAA B-Cuts.
The Xavier men won four BIG EAST Championships and set new program records in seven events. Eight Musketeers had All-Conference performances and Xavier swimmers set NCAA B-Cuts in three events.
Aiden Leamer led the way for the Xavier men, posting All-BIG EAST performances in seven events and winning four BIG EAST Championships, earning Co-BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer. During the meet, Leamer set three new school records individual, including two NCAA B-Cut times.

Swimming at BIG EAST - Day 4 by Xavier Musketeers on Exposure

women's notable
- Abby Bocian led the Musketeers in the timed final of the 1,650 free, placing eighth with a time of 17:10.10. Teegan Madara placed 12th and Mary Sweetman placed 16th.
- Reese Turner collected the bronze in the 200 back, finishing in a time of 1:58.53. Julia Sweetman and Abby Bocian took part in the Championship Final, placing sixth and eighth, respectively.
- Amy Van Son finished 12th, swimming in the B-Final. Maggie O'Toole and Charlie Ramey also took part in the B-Final.
- Olivia Oyster set a new school record and an NCAA B-Cut time in the prelims of the 100 free, finishing in 49.05. In the finals she repeated as the BIG EAST Champion with a time of 49.10, another B-Cut time. Alexis Worrall placed third in the Championship Final with a time of 49.77. Molly Dynda swam in the Bonus Final of the 100 free.
- Jordyn Libler took silver in the 200 breast, upping her own school record time ot 2:13.35. Karlie Dodd touched the wall first in the B-Final, scoring in ninth. Maddy Lathrop also took part in the B-Final and Ally Zaleski swam in the Bonus Final.
- Erin Ritz repeated as the BIG EAST Champion in the 200 fly, setting a new school record time and NCAA B-Cut by finishing in 1:57.46. Norah Simich set an NCAA B-Cut time of 1:58.58 in prelims, earning the top spot in the qualifying swims. Simich collected the Bronze in the Championship Final. Ava Tenhundfeld swam in the Bonus Final of the 200 fly.
- Alexis Worrall, Reese Turner, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster closed out the meet with a time of 3:19.46, a new school record, winning the 400 free relay.
- Xavier finished in third place with 1167 points, behind Villanova and UConn.

- Luke Peterson placed fifth in the 1,650 free with a time of 15:43.29. Adam Lamping placed seventh, Ethan Leamer scored in 10th and Owen Schwebach placed 12th. Caz Mikula and Nick Stroh also swam in the timed finals
- Nate Finnegan finished in fourth place in the 200 back, setting a time of 1:48.22. Matt Fralic swam in the B-Final, placing 10th and Ryan Knipp placed 13th.
- Kyle Hudson placed third in the Championship final of the 100 free, finishing in a time of 44.49. Gage Hannewyk placed fourth, setting a time of 44.77. Matt Adanin took part in the B-Final, placing 12th.
- Ethan Saunders set a new school record and an NCAA B-Cut time of 1:56.49 in the Championship Final of the 200 breast, taking the silver. Nathan Wall placed fourth in the Championship Final and Matthew Scicchitano placed sixth. Brandon Malicki took part in the B-Final, placing 11th and Brayden Mandacina placed 15th.
- Aiden Leamer set the top qualifying time in the 200 fly, 1:45.49, and then bested that time in the Championship final, setting a new BIG EAST record of 1:43.48 on the way to winning the BIG EAST Championship. The mark is also a new school record an an NCAA B-Cut time. Owen Schwebach placed eighth in the Championship Final. Caleb Petranchuk took part in the B-Final, placing 12th
- Kyle Hudson, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Gage Hannewyk set a new school record time of 2:57.17 in the 400 free relay, taking the silver.
- Xavier collected 688 points to finish in third place, behind first place Georgetown and second place Seton Hall.
