03.12.26 | Cross Country, Track and Field
She is the first Xavier student-athlete to earn the scholarship
CINCINNATI - Myla Toole was recently named one of 42Â NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipients. She is the first Xavier student-athlete to earn the scholarship.
Toole was named a NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country All-Academic Athlete on Feb. 2. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.Â
The Winchester, Ohio, native placed 15th at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31, becoming the first female Musketeer to earn all-conference honors since 2021 (Rachel Butler). Toole led the Musketeers to a fifth-place finish at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships, matching the team's highest finish at the conference championship since 2019.
Toole finished her cross country career ranked fourth in school history in both the 5K and 6K races.

The NCAA has awarded $10,000 postgraduate scholarships to 42 exceptional student-athletes as part of the 2025-26 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program. These student-athletes, representing fall sports across all three NCAA divisions, have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, athletic excellence and leadership within their communities.
Each year, the NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who have completed their final year of athletics competition. The scholarships are distributed three times annually — in the fall, winter and spring — providing 21 scholarships each to men and women per season. The award is a one-time, nonrenewable scholarship intended to support graduate study at an accredited institution.
Established in 1964, the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program promotes and encourages graduate education by recognizing the Association's most accomplished student-athletes. The program evaluates candidates on their athletic and academic achievements, campus involvement, community service and leadership.Â
