Nathan Ameen Added to Sports Medicine Staff

CINCINNATI - Xavier Athletics announced the hiring of Nathan Ameen to the sports medicine staff on Wednesday. He will serve as the men's basketball athletic trainer.

Ameen joins the Musketeers from Northern Kentucky where he served as the associate athletic trainer for men's basketball and both golf programs from 2022-26.

Prior to Northern Kentucky, Ameen was an intern athletic trainer for the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes for the 2021-22 season. He was also the head athletic trainer for the Granville Medical Center in Oxford, N.C., from 2019-22.

Ameen holds a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Campbell University ('18) and a master's degree in management in clinical informatics from the Duke University School of Medicine ('21). He also spent a year as a resident at the Galland Sports Residency in Wake Forrest, N.C., in 2018-19.

Ameen is a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist.
