Xavier Welcomes Sydney Ragland As New Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant

Ragland will be the main contact for volleyball and women's lacrosse.
CINCINNATI – Xavier University Athletics announced that Sydney Ragland has been hired as the athletic communications graduate assistant. She will serve as the primary communications contact for volleyball and lacrosse.
"Sydney's experience, personality and passion for working with student-athletes, coaches and staff set her apart among a tremendous field of applicants," said Tom Eiser, Associate Athletics Director for Communications. "We are excited to welcome her to our athletic communications team."
Prior to Xavier, Ragland served as an athletic communications assistant at the College of Charleston (2025-26). She worked with the soccer and softball programs during her time with the Cougars. The softball team won its first ever Coastal Athletic Association championship in the spring and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Ragland worked with the women's basketball team at the University of Kentucky during the 2024-25 season, overseeing in-game social media for the program. She also worked as a communications assistant at the 2025 Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Louisville, Ky., native holds a bachelor's degree in communication from Kentucky ('25).
