Brian Arlinghaus was named the head men’s golf coach in June of 2021.
In 2024-25, he coached two All-BIG EAST performers in Carson Bellish and Ray Filter - the first all-conference performers since 2019. Xavier also had two or more golfers earn all-conference honors in the same season for the first time since 2016 (Jose Montaño and Daniel Wetterich).
The Musketeers posted five, top-three finishes during the 2024-25 season with two tournament titles. Xavier placed second at the BIG EAST Championships on April 28, the highest finish for the Musketeers at the BIG EAST Championships since 2016 (also finished second).
Xavier won the Xavier Invitational and the Wexford Intercollegiate during the 2024-25 season, the first team titles for the Musketeers since 2016 (won the Pinehurst Intercollegiate).
Off the course, the Musketeers earned the 2023-24 GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award with a 3.69 team grade point average. Carson Bellish, Zach Burton, Justin Gabbard and Oscar Zimmerman were all named NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. Bellish was also named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District® Team.
Arlinghaus joined the Musketeers after serving as the head men’s golf coach at Wright State from 2017-21. He was an assistant coach with the Raiders for two seasons (2015-17) before being promoted to head coach.
Arlinghaus led Wright State to the 2019 Horizon League Championship, the program’s first conference title since 2004. The Raiders also finished second at the conference championships in 2021 and fourth in 2018.
Arlinghaus coached 12 all-conference honorees during his time at Wright State, highlighted by a program-best four honorees in 2021. He also assisted in coaching Ryan Wenzler to Horizon League Player of the Year honors in 2017, becoming only the second player in program history to earn the recognition.
Arlinghaus posted 24 top-five team finishes at tournaments as the head coach at Wright State with seven tournament titles.
Prior to Wright State, Arlinghaus was the head men’s golf coach at Miami University-Hamilton from 2012-15.
The Cincinnati native holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from Dayton and a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He owns and operates Cincinnati Sports Psychology which he founded in 2013.
