Allen Payne has completed his second year with the Xavier men’s basketball team. Payne, a 2014 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in public administration, was a three-year starter for the Tigers, including team captain as a senior. He played one year of pro basketball in England for the Sheffield Sharks after graduation.

Payne, a native of Cincinnati, played two years at Winton Woods High School with former XU standout Semaj Christon. Payne earned All-State, All-City and Conference Player of the Year honors as a high school senior.

Payne’s responsibilities include assisting the coaching staff in limited on-court activities during practice, advance scouting, video and on-campus recruiting.
