Derek Goeglein is an accomplished higher education professional with nearly a decade of experience in student affairs, event management, and program development. A proud 2016 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Education, Derek went on to earn his Master’s in Higher Education from Florida State University in 2018. Throughout his career, he has supervised professional and student staff, led student programming initiatives, and revitalized summer programs. Derek began his career in Residence Life as an Area Coordinator at the University of Dayton, later advancing to progressively more responsibility at the University of Cincinnati, before joining Xavier University in 2023. At Xavier, he first served as Assistant Director of the Gallagher Student Center before transitioning to his current role as Director of Events and Conferences, where he oversees large-scale event execution and strategic conference operations. Originally from Detroit, MI, Derek now lives in Cincinnati, OH with his wife, Melissa, and their two sons, Owen and Theo. Derek enjoys traveling, coffee, snacking, and spending quality time with his family.
