In 2026, the Musketeers finished with an overall record of 28-30 with aΒ 15-6 record in BIG EAST play, earning share of the 2026 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship. Β Among Xavier's wins was a 8-4 win at No. 3 Georgia Tech, Xavier's highest ranked win since topping No. 2 Vanderbilt in Nashville in 2024.
Xavier earned the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, marking the sixth-straight year the Musketeers have participated in the four-team tournament. Five Musketeers earned All-BIG EAST honors, including fourΒ on the First Team, Clay Burdette, Luke Hammond, Garrett Helsel and Ryan Piech, and Second Team honoree Ashton Chronister.
Following the seasonΒ Clay Burdette and Ryan Piech were both selected in the seventh round of the 2026 MLB Draft.
In 2025, the Musketeers posted a fourth-consecutive 30-win season, finishing the campaign at 32-27 overall, playing the fifth hardest non-conference strength of schedule in NCAA DI, and posted a 14-7 record in BIG EAST play. Xavier earned the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, continuing the program's streak of earning a bid to the four-team league tournament in each year the event has been held since 2019.Β
Five Musketeers earned All-BIG EAST honors following the season, including First Team selectionΒ Connor Misch and Second Team honoreesΒ Ryan Piech, Logan Schmidt, Nolan Tucker and Ben Weber.
In his first season on the Xavier coaching staff in 2024, Bertram helped coach the Musketeers to a third-straight 30-win season, finishing with a record of 30-27 overall, and a 12-9 record in BIG EAST play, earning the No. 4 seed the BIG EAST Tournament.
Bertram, originally from Zionsville, Ind., played a middle infielder in college, and spent the 2023 season as a grad student at Clemson after spending four seasons at Michigan. For his career, Bertram was a .275 hitter with a .365 slugging percentage and .373 on-base percentage through 195 games. In his five collegiate seasons, he made 174 starts, drove in 110 RBIs and scored 115 runs. On defense Bertram, finished his college career with a .967 fielding percentage.During the 2023 season at Clemson, Bertram was a team captain, earning ACC All-Tournament First Team honors after helping the Tigers to the tournament championship.
A two-time captain at Michigan, Bertram was an All-Big Ten Tournament First Team selection for the 2022 Big Ten Tournament Champions, and a member of the 2019 squad that made the championship series of the College World Series.
Bertram earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan in 2022, and a Certificate in Athletic Leadership from Clemson in 2023. He earned All-Academic Team honors from both the Big Ten and the ACC during his career.
