Breitenstein leads all the development efforts for Xavier Athletics, including major gift fundraising and the All For One Fund.
Prior to Xavier, he was the Assistant Athletics Director of Development at Loyola Chicago. Over a two year period, the Rambler Varsity Club increased by 35 percent and had record highs in annual athletic giving.
Prior to his arrival at Loyola, Breitenstein spent two years in the athletics development office at Ohio University. He managed sales and renewals for 1,400 premium football seats, coordinated The Experience, OU's VIP football event for top-tier donors, coordinated donor visits and managed courtside seating for basketball, among other duties.
Before his time at Ohio, Breitenstein worked in the marketing and operations departments for the Triple A Durham Bulls. He also served a short stint in the development office for the Nashville Sports Council and Music City Bowl, Inc., where he assisted in sponsorship acquisition for the Music City Bowl and also played a role in securing the winning bid for the 2013 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four in Nashville.
Breitenstein is a 2008 graduate of Appalachian State University where he was a member of three NCAA Football Championship Series (FCS) National Championship squads. He also holds master's degrees in business administration and sports administration from Ohio University.
The Boone, N.C., native is married to the former Ms. Tracy Callahan.
