John Morrey Resigns as Head Baseball Coach

CINCINNATI --- John Morrey has resigned from his position as head baseball coach at Xavier University on Thursday. Morrey had just completed his 12th season with the Musketeers, and had a 287-371-2 record at Xavier. He has an overall record of 861-720-2 as head coach, including 13 seasons with Saint Xavier University in Chicago, which ranks him 44th in all-time coaching victories by Division I Head Coaches.
?During his tenure here at Xavier, John Morrey worked tirelessly to advance our baseball program in many meaningful ways,? said Associate Vice President Mike Bobinski. ?We appreciate John?s efforts on behalf of Xavier and wish him well.?
?I appreciate the opportunity to have been associated with Xavier University,? Morrey said. ?It is a great institution, and I?m certain the University will have much success in the future.?
A national search will be conducted for a new head baseball coach.
