
Women's Soccer Team Suffers A Shutout Loss At Duquesne

The
Today's match was a lot closer than the final margin, especially in a hard-fought scoreless first half. The Musketeers actually outshot the Dukes 14-13 for the game and each team had five shots on goal. Unfortunately for the visitors, four of Duquesne's five shots on goal resulted in goals scored.
After a scoreless first half, Duquesne's offense came alive in the second half. Shannon Rengers scored at 46:01, a goal that proved to be the game-winner. The Dukes struck again five minutes later with an insurance goal from Audra Mathews at 51:31. Duquesne added two more scores, one at 63:58 and one at 84:39, to account for the final margin.
Duquesne goalkeeper Gabby Morrin earned a shutout while recording five saves.
Xavier closes out the home portion of the schedule next weekend when it hosts
