A kill by Katie Russell would quiet the Hornet attack as the Musketeers took game one, 30-21.
Game two started out much the same as Xavier opened the frame with seven straight points before Delaware State would get on the board. After to assisted blocks by the Musketeers and a kill by sophomore Kelly Ruth notched the score at 15-7 in favor of XU, the Hornets decided to take a minute to talk it over. DSU tried to get back in the game as it put together a 6-1 run late in the frame but its nine-point deficit was too much to overcome. Xavier collected a game-two victory by a margin of nine, 30-21.
The third game was close at the beginning as the two squads traded points. With the score knotted at five apiece, freshman Chelsea Campbell smashed two consecutive kills to give XU the 7-5 advantage, kicking off an 8-0 run by the Musketeers. Campell had five kills in the frame to lead the Blue and White to a 30-16 third game final score as Xavier took the match, 3-0.
