Women's Soccer Team Suffers Shutout Loss

CINCINNATI --- The Bowling Green State Falcons scored a 2-0 shutout win over the Xavier Musketeers in non-conference women’s soccer action on Sunday afternoon at the Xavier University Soccer Complex. XU now turns its attention to the Atlantic 10 Conference schedule, which opens for the Musketeers on Friday against Temple at XU at 7 p.m.
Bowling Green struck for the game’s first goal just 19 seconds into the match as Corbie Yee took a cross from Gina Rossi and finished it off for the score. That’s how the score remained until the match’s 72nd minute when Kate Stephenson found the back of the net for an insurance goal and the final score of the afternoon.
The Falcons raised their record to 5-2-2 and extended their unbeaten streak to six matches, while Xavier fell to 1-6 with the loss.
