For the season, XU is limiting opponents to just 37.1 percent shooting. Entering the contest with Charlotte, XU was ranked seventh for field goal percentage defense in the latest NCAA rankings (1-22-09). In XU's six Atlantic 10 contests this season, the Musketeers have held opponents to 55.5 ppg. and 35.9 percent shooting.
Following XU's subpar 52.8 percent free throw shooting performance against La Salle, the Musketeers have improved their touch from the line in the past three games, hitting 74.2 percent (46-for-62) of their free throws.
