
Women's Soccer Falls, 5-1, at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Junior Justine Hartigan scored her first goal of the season but the Xavier University women's soccer team fell by a 5-1 count to James Madison on Friday evening in Harrisonburg, Va. With the loss, XU slips to 0-2-0 on the season while JMU improves to 1-1-0.
Hartigan's goal, which tied the match at 1-1, came just 8:22 into the contest. Hartigan took a feed from Carly Wenzel and fired a shot from 12-yards out inside the far post.
The game would remain tied for over 30-minutes until CAA Preseason Player of the Year Corky Julien made a point blank shot to give JMU a lead it would not relinquish.
Senior Kelly Farrell made seven saves in 66-minutes of action for Xavier. She was relieved by Jennifer Perri, who stopped five shots and allowed just one goal. Diane Wiszalek made one save for James Madison.
The Musketeers are back in action on Sunday, when they take on Towson. Game time is set for 11 a.m. in Harrisonburg, Va. as part of James Madison's Comfort Inn Tournament.
