CINCINNATI - Xavier Athletics has created a series of billboards that will be displayed throughout Southwest Ohio. The campaign was unveiled this week and will continue until November. Xavier partnered with Norton Outdoor to place the outdoor campaign.
The campaign will feature three different concepts that will provide highly-visible signage on many of the area’s most-traveled thoroughfares. The primary purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness about men’s basketball season-ticket packages. Each of the displays features the GoXavier.com web site and the “Be The X Factor” campaign slogan. Beyond ticket sales, the campaign is intended to extend the Xavier brand and keep Xavier basketball on top of everyone’s mind. “We are excited about the “Be The X Factor” campaign and how it will resonate among our fans”, said Brian Hicks, Assistant AD for Marketing. “The campaign will not only build awareness about the upcoming season, but will also let our fans know how important they are to contributing to our success.”
Senior center Jason Love will grace the first concept which is located along I-71 North near Smith/Edwards Roads. Playing off of the student-athlete’s last name, the tri-vision display includes the text “You Have To Love It!”
Another concept features an image of Junior guard Dante Jackson taking the basketball to the hoop and includes the tag line “Driven.” Jackson is a fan favorite and is known for his intensity and knack for making clutch shots. During the next two months, the Jackson display will be located along both I-75 South near the Norwood Lateral and I-71 North near Xavier’s campus.
The third display features an image of two X-treme Fans painted in blue. The text reads "Are You Fan Enough?" and is intended to encourage fans to join the Xavier Nation at Cintas Center.
The Love and X-treme fan designs will also be placed in over thirty additional displays throughout the area. The season ticket campaign launched in late July with print ads and will continue through November and includes outdoor, print, online, radio, television, voice messaging and e-marketing components.
Last season, Xavier had 11 sellouts, its most since the 2001-02 season. Cintas Center was filled to 98.5 percent of capacity and anticipates another strong season as nearly 7,000 full-season tickets have been sold.
Season tickets are currently available by calling Xavier Athletics Ticket Office at 513-745-3411 or online here. The 2009-10 schedule includes 17 home games at Cintas Center including games against Cincinnati, Dayton and LSU. Full-season tickets begin at $285. In addition to full-season tickets, Xavier will be offering three different mini-packs. These offerings will go on sale to the public September 22 and includes two four-game packs and a half-season (7-games) package that includes the Crosstown Shootout against Cincinnati. Tickets for that game will only be available by purchasing either a full- or half-season ticket package.
