
Butler Shuts Out The Women's Soccer Team

CINCINNATI --- The Xavier women’s soccer team was blanked 2-0 by visiting Butler on Friday night at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
The teams battled to a scoreless tie after the first half. Butler finally opened the scoring with a goal from Molly Kruger at 47:04, hitting a shot from 16 yards out that found the left side of the net. The Bulldogs added an insurance goal at 81:22 when Molly Kruger, who had assisted on the first goal, punch the ball over the outstretched arms of Xavier goalkeeper Jenny Rosen.
Butler dominated the shots category 14-1, including 8-1 in shots on goal.
Butler goalkeeper Jessica Schein earned the shutout, although the one Butler save was credited to a BU defender in the field.
Xavier fell to 0-7 with the loss, while Butler improved to 4-5.
The Musketeers plays the second match of the three-match homestand on Sunday against North Texas at 1 p.m.
